Got 5 minutes? 10? Here are some ideas for what you can do today to help stop underage drinking: So, What Can I Do?
Action Teams: The two current teams are Public Education Action Team and the Policy Change Action Team. Meetings are held about once per month. For more information about these groups, contact Jo Morrissey.
Outreach: We frequently can utilize adults and young adults to help represent us at events—whether at informational tables or administering surveys or anything in between. These events occur several times a year, and are always listed at Volunteer Maine. For more information about these opportunities, contact 21 Reasons.
Youth: Most of our work is with adults, but there are a few things that youth can do to help. We encourage youth to participate in the Sticker Shock program created by the Maine Office of Substance Abuse, or to help out with focus groups information. In late 2010 we’ll be offering a Youth Activity Guide for youth groups to utilize in creating community change to prevent underage drinking. Contact 21 Reasons if you have questions.
